Racers Reunion Recap

The New England Racing Museum’s annual Racers’ Reunion took place on May 3, 2025 on a dreary day with rain in the forecast. The show beat the rain and ran start to finish without a drop. New this year was a special section of activities for kids. Included therein was the gravity-feed rocker cover racing, junior dragsters, a special area for remote control cars and mini-sprints. As always the fine eating Smoke Shack was on property with their food truck.

The headline of the day was the Best of Show award which was won by Glen Billings and his pretty modified. Built by Chassis Dynamics drivers Brett Bodine and “Magic Shoes” Mike McLaughlin drove the car from 1981 to 1991, a period with many top drivers like Bugs Stevens and Fred Desarro.

The Scott Patten photo seen here shows the car in the museum building with its owner and his trophy. The car will be on display in the museum for a year.

The museum’s next car show will be on Saturday, August 16, the annual Hot Rods, Muscle and More all Vehicle Car Show. Be there!
