Construction Updates
Work continued on the site of the North East Motor Sports Museum deep into December. The final project to be accomplished before the harsh winter set in was to install an underground storm water drain system. Using large pre-cast concrete pieces provided by E.F. Shea Concrete and pipe provided by EJP, heavy equipment operator Andy Kaski built the system which will control storm water runoff from the building and its parking lots. Construction will resume in March when Kaski will return to dig the building's perimeter for the foundation which will be followed by construction of the building itself. The building is a Morton pre-fab built in Illinois and will arrive on several trailer trucks. It's estimated that the basic building will be completed in six weeks. Then, plumbers, electricians and finish carpenters along with museum volunteers will finish out the interior. Along the way, the property not covered by the building will be landscaped and the parking lots will be paved. Back |
