Construction Update
Major progress was made on May 18 when the museum's floor was poured. A huge number of people and amount of equipment contributed to the success of the pour which began at 7am. A massive concrete pump truck sent 15 truck loads of concrete from the Michie Corporation onto the floor area. Prior preparation by Andy Kaski and Bentley Warren along with Larry Kelly's crew had the under-concrete area ready to go. Already planted were plumbing and electrical pipes installed with labor donated by Total Climate Control and Doherty Electric respectively. The concrete was leveled by a high tech machine guided by lasers. As the floor set up, multiple machines smoothed the surface to a glass-like finish. Next up: Morton's carpenters arrive to erect the building which is already on site. Back |
