A BIG JUNE DAY

Progress on the building continues. The photos you see were taken on Sunday, June 12 and reveal the building's finished truss installations and a considerable amount of completed wall studding. Hard to see but in place is the beginning of trim installation. The building will be blue and white, same colors as other steel buildings at the track.

Also on Sunday, the annual Gypsy Tour motorcycle ride from downtown Wiers Beach to the track which benefits the museum was the best attended by far. A police escort led nearly 50 riders along a lake road, then through downtown Laconia where the police tood the motorcyclists through every traffic light without stopping. Arriving at the track, the group was led by a half-dozen vintage tank-shift motorcycles handled by a half-dozen vintage riders on four laps of the road course. Those tank-shift riders included our own Bentley Warren who later in the afternoon finished second in the tank-shift event after leading the most laps. Bentley is 75.
