RENE THE CHAMP
The North East Motor Sports Museum has forged agreements with other museums to borrow and lend cars and artifacts. On October 29, 2016, the first of those artifacts came to us through the courtesy of the Saratoga (NY) Automotive Museum. Shown is Don Breslauer who delivered four Rene Charland-won NASCAR National Championship trophies Saratoga has loaned to us along with Rene's helmet and his jacket. Those four trophies will reside in a place of honor in our new trophy case and the helmet will join helmets of other New England racing championships in their own case. Rene, a New England native who raced around here a great deal, was nicknamed "The Champ" because of his four NASCAR national championships. Back |
