JACK DOYLE HONORED
On Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2018, Jack Doyle, Steward of the North East Motor Sports Museum, was presented with the Frank Maratta Award for his contributions to drag racing. Doyle played a major role in creating New England Dragway, then served as the track’s General Manager. He has aggressively promoted and supported the track’s events for more than 50 years.
Doyle was a
record setting car owner and driver during some of the sport’s earliest days.
The award,
presented every year since 1981, is named for the man who built Connecticut
Dragway and created many custom car/hot rod shows in New England. It is
particularly fitting that this year’s award went to a man who is one of New
England drag racing’s greatest treasures.
