IT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING
RACE CARS AS ART
Pete
vonSneidern’s Big Car that’s currently on display at the North East Motor Sports Museum is a beautiful thing.
Carefully and faithfully restored to be seen as it raced on the old dirt track
in Keene, NH in the 1940s and 1950s, it’s the real deal. All business. No
chrome, nothing fancy, just built for speed.
But when
photographer Bill Gordon saw the car in the museum, his view was different than
most of us. While preserving the essence of the car, he put the rest of the
museum in black and white.
We think Gordon’s
photograph is so beautiful, we are sharing it with you.
This is the
same car that’s on one of the museum’s most popular shirts in a photo that
includes its driver, Art Rousseau.
