THE BOBBY SEYMOUR MIDGET

 ANOTHER MIDGET ARRIVES

With 2020 the year of the Midget at the museum thanks to sponsorship from Frank Manafort, Bobby Seymour’s 1987 NEMA Championship-winning car has arrived. It’s one of the most beautiful restorations in the museum, with every detail carefully attended to. Powered by a VW engine, the car was built in the Seymour family shops in 1979. The first win was a big one. In May, 1984 Bobby drove it to victory in the NEMA East/West Classic at Star. In 1989, he won the ARDC feature at Southside, VA and also won with the car at Star. In 1990, he won the Richmond ARDC event as well as two features at Star and one each at Oxford and Lee.

Ken Schrader won an indoor event in Nashville in the car. Jeff Gordon’s first time in a midget was in this car.

The car won a total of 17 features between 1984 and 1993.

Vic Yerardi was the sponsor from beginning to end.
