VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
The North East Motor Sports Museum is run by volunteers.
Forty of those volunteers and their spouses gathered at the museum on November
24 for the annual luncheon to honor the service so many provide. This year, for
the first time one of those volunteers was named “Volunteer of the Year,” and
the award went to a very deserving Steve Locke.
Steve is
the museum’s most active volunteer. He is the guy who moves the cars, sometimes
a dozen or more in a day, to create displays and to move them in and out. He
plows our snow, he fixes what’s broken, and he serves as an inspiration to all
of us.
In our
photo, Executive Director Tom Netishen presents Steve with the plaque honoring
him and which has become a permanent part of the museum.
