Skip Ambrose 2020 Volunteer of the Year
Unfortunately due to the ongoing pandemic we were not able to gather our dedicated volunteer team for our traditional appreciation luncheon. Even though we could not all gather together we thought it was vital that we still honor a volunteer who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to our mission of preserving and educating the history of auto racing in New England. Skip Ambrose was honored on December 12th with a surprise presentation.
Skip has been a volunteer at the museum since day one. He
helped paint the walls and assist with initial setup before the museum was open
to the public. He calls volunteers on a weekly basis to help schedule volunteer
teams during public hours of operation. Even when the museum was closed for
three months at the start of the pandemic, Skip called volunteers to keep them
up to date with what was going on. He also assists with food prep for the volunteer
teams and helps with general cleaning and maintenance around the building to
keep the museum looking great. Skip is so dedicated to the success of the
museum he has committed himself to be onsite every day we are open to the
public. He is usually the first one to unlock the museum in the morning and the
last one to exit at the end of the day.
Join me in congratulating Skip Ambrose for being the 2020
volunteer of the year at the North East Motor Sports Museum. Pictured is Skip
with his dedication plaque which is now permanently on display at the museum.
