SCOTT WILSON WINS 4th ANNUAL PARKER-CORAINE TROPHY WITH 1948 CADILLAC CONVERTIBLE
Stow, Massachusetts resident Scott Wilson was victorious over all other 277 show car and truck entrants to capture the 4th Annual Parker-Coraine Best of Show Trophy at the museums 6th Annual Hot Rods, Muscle and More Car Show Fundraiser on August 24th. Wilson’s custom Cadillac Convertible Series 62 was the best of the best among a strong show field of high quality vehicles. Wilson, a retired electrical engineer bought the car 15 years ago on eBay in its original unrestored condition. The vision of the car was inspired by a car he saw at the Street Rod National’s in Kentucky. Impressively, Wilson completed the entire restoration himself other than the upholstery. Over the past 15 years the car has been methodically restored and customized. The restomod rotisserie restoration includes a LS2 Chevrolet engine from a 2007 Trailblazer and a 4070E transmission from that vehicle as well. The front fenders are from a 1955 Cadillac in which Wilson grafted on. The hood was pie cut and lowered two inches and the immaculate engine bay includes custom bead rolled steel which provides the magnificent finished look. Wilson has over 5000 hours of time into restoring the car. Other unique features on the car include a Scott’s Hot Rod front and rear clip, Wilwood brake system, custom Budnik Wheels, air ride suspension, narrowed rear bumper, custom exhaust system and turn signal lights from a Jeep. The 1948 Cadillac was the first automobile to have rear taillight fins, which were inspired by World War II aviation. Join us in congratulating Scott on his win! Thank you to all the supporting sponsors, car owners, spectators and volunteers who chose to support the 2024 edition of Hot Rods, Muscle and More in support of the 501(c)3 New England Racing Museum.
