Two New England race car drivers have won major 2024 national championships, David Gravel in the top American sprint car series, the World of Outlaws, and Joey Logano in NASCAR’s top stock car series..

Middletown, Connecticut native Logano arrived at NASCAR as a kid with the nickname, “Sliced Bread” as in the best thing next to sliced bread. He came through a 10-month, 36-race 2024 season, narrowly making the final race as one of just four contenders with a chance to become champion.
