The First Car

On December 1, 2016, the first car to arrive on the floor of the North East Motor Sports Museum was the #1 modified which was driven by Geoff Bodine to dozens of wins in 1978. The first car to arrive at the museum has a pavement history. Its driver played a major role in building the car and dominated New England the first year he raced it. FIRST CAR TO ENTER THE MUSEUM FOR DISPLAY

Construction of the North East Motor Sports Museum nears its conclusion. As soon as Thanksgiving, we will begin to set up the library and display cases.

The first car to roll into the museum for display will arrive on or about December 1. It has to be something special. After years of dreaming and years of work, the museum’s first car has to have a winning history. It has to be original, as it was raced.

Lakes Region Heating and Air Conditioning is installing the museum's climate control hardware. They are doing it on a materials-only basis with the company's labor donated. And there has been plenty of donated labor. Andy Cardinal (left) and Josh Mainville have been in the building for weeks installing the ceiling ductwork and the rest of what's needed to being heat and AC in.
